WARA Policy On Laptop Computers OBJECTIVE WARA seeks to maximise the historical record and flow of quality information of the Association’s affairs. To achieve these objectives the Association has purchased laptop computers for issue to office bearers to carry out their role and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution. POLICY Provision of Computer The committee recognises that not all office bearers will necessarily be competent users of computers and the required programs to carry out their role and therefore will provide necessary training for any office bearer to perform their role utilising the laptop computers. Within 7 days of election to the respective office the committee member will be issued with a laptop computer that will be loaded with the relevant software, which will be determined by the executive Committee from time to time. This equipment must be signed for by the committee member acknowledging receipt of the equipment and a copy of the policy that controls the use of the equipment. Training Office bearers issued a laptop shall have available to them training on word processing, spreadsheets, email and other relevant software, provided by other committee members or preferred suppliers. The cost of such training is to be borne by the Association. Each recipient will be required to complete a training needs analysis questionnaire to enable the President to determine the level of training required for the office bearer to use software to in performing their role. Additional training and support will be provided by the Executive Committee following the completion of the external training component. Such training includes specific training in relation to the respective role, but does not include any training considered by the President to be unnecessary for the performance of the function of the office bearer. Implementation Any office bearer leaving their position with the Association shall return, within three (3) working days any computing equipment provided by the Association.
